Why do I need a separate detergent for my furbaby?
Pet skin is up to 10x thinner than our own, meaning human detergent was not formulated for pets, and might not be safe for them. Not only could human detergent irritate skin, but it is not targeted for specific pet soils like urine, feces, blood, and vomit. PetTergent® is pet-safe, and was formulated for the soils mentioned, keeping pet laundry fresh and clean for many messes to come.
How much should I use?
Thanks to its 25% more concentrated formulation, for regular loads, use 1-2oz of PetTergent®, for larger loads, use 2oz or more of PetTergent®. Use more or less depending on the level of soil and odor.
Can I use this as an additive?
PetTergent® is a laundry detergent for pets and will wash your furbaby’s laundry without the need for other additives or boosters.
Is it safe for both HE and standard washers?
PetTergent® is safe to use for both High Efficiency and Standard washing machines.
Can I wash human laundry with it?
While PetTergent® is safe for all laundry, it is targeted specifically toward pet stains and odors like blood, urine, feces, and ‘that dog smell’. That being said, washable furniture, blankets, or human clothing can also benefit from PetTergent®.
How do I know if my furbaby is reactive to my current detergent?
Signs your furbaby is having a reaction to laundry detergent looks very similar to us-including itching and skin rashes. It can also be licking, paw biting, ear or eye infections, or inflammation of their paws and other areas.

We were having issues getting the urine smell out of our senior dogs belly bands and blankets. Just a small amount of the Petergent gets the smells out. I used too much the first time, though. When they say a cap full that is what they mean. Thank you for helping us get the smell conquered.

I originally purchased and subscribed to PetTergent deliveries because my oldest dog grew more incontinent and there were messes to clean around the clock. He has since died, but I continue to use PetTergent to clean the bedding for my other pets and to clean the throw rugs and blankets they lie on.
